Un poco de historia.
Las Comunidades Cristianas Populares (CCP) surgen en España a comienzos de la década de los 70. En su origen influyen grupos procedentes de diversos Movimientos apostólicos y se desarrollan en medios obreros, parroquias de suburbios, núcleos universitarios, sectores rurales, etc. Contribuyen a este proceso tanto la situación política (final de la dictadura camino a la democracia), como eclesial (del nacional catolicismo al conservadurismo con un Vaticano II sin aplicación).
En las CCP se intentaba vivir la fe desde la lucha por la liberación del pueblo, llegando a elaborar una nueva visión de la teología, los sacramentos y la iglesia, ayudados por la Teología de la Liberación y coincidiendo con el nacimiento de Cristianos por el Socialismo.
Partimos de un proyecto de Iglesia Popular, que se configura como movimiento en octubre de 1973, y se concreta en unas “Bases comunes” en 1974. Como CCP propiamente dichas se definen en el I Encuentro estatal celebrado en Madrid en 1976. Desde entonces mas de 25 encuentros nacionales, infinidad de escritos y comunicados, junto a las “Bases CCP de 1980 y su la revisión de marzo del 93 “Lo que somos y lo que queremos ser”, han orientado la teoría y la práctica de las CCB españolas, en lo que Jesús Gil ha publicado recientemente como “Teología de las CCP en España”.
Presentes en las luchas populares por las libertades y los Derechos Humanos, hemos ayudado a muchos cristianos a vivir su fe de forma coherente con su opción de clase, hemos colaborado en la trasformación de una sociedad más laica y democrática, hemos luchado por ofrecer una imagen de Iglesia no ligada al poder y hemos tratado de ser otra voz de Iglesia utilizando la denuncia profética en multitud de temas cotidianos (contra la OTAN, sobre el divorcio, ante el Aborto, sobre la izquierda, contra el pensamiento único, la globalización, y un largo etcétera).
Las CCP en la actualidad.
Tras diversas etapas de militancia, de auge, de desencanto y de resistencia, nos encontramos con que más mayorcitos de edad y bastantes menos miembros de los que desearíamos, persistimos en nuestro afán de asumir la causa del Padre –su Reino- tratando de convivir y compartir fraternalmente, de comprometernos social y políticamente como parte del pueblo y de celebrar nuestra Fe en comunidad desde una decidida opción por los más pobres. Y todo ello a la vez y de una manera permanente.
Repartidos en 14 coordinadoras provinciales y regionales, todavía podemos contabilizar más de 1200 hombres y mujeres que participamos en unas 115 pequeñas comunidades (CCP). A ellas hay que añadir otras tantas que pertenecen a diversas Iglesias de Base, como las de Madrid, Murcia, o Asturias -entre otras-, que también forman parte de lo que genéricamente llamamos en Europa CCB, aunque aquí no estén coordinadas como CCP, pero con las que compartimos prácticamente el mismo modelo de sociedad y de Iglesia desde la recién creada Redes Cristianas.
A grandes rasgos podemos señalar que el compromiso sociopolítico sigue siendo fuerte (mas en lo social que en lo político). Hay mucha gente con largas historias de compromiso tanto en la sociedad como en la iglesia; algunos pertenecen a partidos, otros a sindicatos y la mayoría participa en los movimientos sociales alternativos, existiendo en casi todas partes un compromiso fuerte de solidaridad con el Tercer Mundo (comités Oscar Romero, África Negra, etc)
La coordinación, elemento clave.
Las CCP son grupos autónomos que a nivel local, regional, estatal y europeo no han dejado, por suerte, de coordinarse, por lo que es muy posible que gracias a ello no se haya apagado la antorcha y que de cualquier ascua siempre pueda seguir brotando el fuego renovador.
En España esta coordinación se ha concretado en distintos Encuentros CCP (13 estatales, además de los numerosos regionales/autonómicos o los 5 Encuentros de jóvenes de CCP) y 12 Jornadas de reflexión. A todos ellos habría que añadir nuestra permanente presencia en los 4 Congresos Europeos de CCB celebrados antes de este de Viena, así como en los 3 Seminarios Europeos de CCB.
También es de destacar nuestra coordinación con otros grupos cristianos, tanto a nivel de Estado como Europeo (Red de Iglesia en Libertad), como son los más de 20 Congresos de Teología organizados por la Asociación Juan XXIII en Madrid o las 14 Semanas andaluzas de teología, las corrientes Somos Iglesia, IMWAC, Kairós Europa, Redes Católicas por el cambio en la Iglesia o las ya citadas Iglesias de Base, o los comités de solidaridad con América Latina, o con el África Negra.
También hemos mantenido una coordinación directa con las CEB latinoamericanas y con el SICSAL, así como en diversos encuentros latinoamericanos como los de Brasil, Veracruz, Nicaragua o Madrid, no habiendo ido a los dos últimos de Quito y Bogotá.
Y finalmente y como hecho verdaderamente innovador y que nos alienta mas que nunca esa “terca esperanza” hemos de hablar de REDES CRISTIANAS, una red de redes que va mas allá de la mera coordinación, que constituye nuestra mayor apuesta de futuro y que puede verse ampliada mas adelante ya que forma parte de las experiencias/testimonios seleccionadas para este encuentro europeo.

Desde el primer momento hemos editado nuestros boletines CCP, tanto a nivel estatal como de algunas regiones españolas. En 1990 dejamos de publicar nuestra revista Comunidades Cristianas Populares en aras de una mayor coordinación -a la vez que aprovechamiento de los recursos- y de una mejor difusión. En 1992 nace UTOPÍA, la revista de los cristianos de Base de España fruto de la unión de 8 grupos, desde una idea de coordinación futura más amplia: CCP, Comunidades Cristianas de Base de la Región de Murcia, Achamán de Canarias, Comunidades Cristianas de Base en el noroeste de Salamanca, Movimiento pro-celibato opcional, Misión del Sur, Iglesia de Base de Asturias e Iglesia de Base de Madrid.
Hoy día, Utopía, que acaba de publicar su nº 73 (Marzo de 2009), cumple 18 años y sigue siendo esa voz de los sin voz que le hizo acreedora en el año 2000 del Premio León Felipe de los Derechos Humanos.

Soy Henry Duràn, hijo de Carlos, militante Obrero Cristiano de toda la vida, con quien entre los años 1977 a 1986, tuvimos el privilegio de trabajar por los Pueblos de Amèrica Latina... Medellìn, Panamà, Caracas... El SEP, la JOC, el MOAC, La Pastoral Obrera...
Durante su militancia en Uruguay por los años 1967 hasta 1977, fue perseguido, preso y torturado brutalmente al punto que cuando lo pudimos liberar y gracias a la Solidaridad de los Pueblos de Amèrica, hicimos las maletas y partimos.
Motiva esta comunicaciòn el hecho que hoy a sus 76 años, pasò por las peores pesadillas que un ser humano puede soportar... el misterio de la mente lo volviò a tomar "preso" en las sombras del pasado, perdiendo la razòn, alucinando, y sintièndose otra vez en manos de los cobardes, que como a tantos compañeros, maltrataron hasta lo que està fuera de la imaginaciòn, por defender su Fè, su convicciòn, por la causa de los pobres...
El tema es, que los diagnòsticos mèdicos lo condenaban otra vez al encierro, esta vez, a una clìnica psiquiàtrica atiborrado de pastillas para que lo mantuvieran quieto, pensando en la "tranquilidad" del entorno. Nosotros, su familia, no nos resignamos a eso y decidimos llevàrnoslo a la casa y asumir lo que fuera y fue asì que vimos otra vez con asombro el poder de la voluntad y la Fè. El inmenso amor de la familia lo trajo al presente.
La razòn volviò. Èl tambièn. Todo esto generò un Testimonio de vida que queremos compartir, ya que, pasados estos meses en que se recuperò, escribimos en un libro lo vivido, para contribuìr, para que ayude a no olvidarnos de nuestros viejitos que son nuestra biblioteca viva y no debemos darnos el lujo de tirarlos a un rincòn... o a un hospital.
